Home Information Packs
What is a Home Information Pack?
On 1st August, Home Information Packs (HIPs) were introduced in England and Wales with the aim being to take the stress out of buying and selling a home by providing key information up front. Home Information Packs are to be extended from December 14th to every home being put on the market.
Each pack will contain an Energy Performance Certificate which will provide key information on how energy efficient the house you are interested in is. It will also contain information on how to make the house more energy efficient.
HIPs will also include information such as searches and other legal documents.
A Home Condition Report can also be included in the packs on a voluntary basis. The Home Condition Report provides useful details of the condition of the property.
